Digital - Sketches E-Mail
Before I got into computer graphics and design in general, my time spent in college classes was often devoted entirely to filling up my pages of notes with small, quick, abstract drawings. After a couple years of this, and a few drawing fundamental classes in college, I began to see the huge benefits of foregoing forethought and just letting everything flow out. That, to me, is the basis of art - creation at the spur of the moment.

This is difficult to replicate using computers. It's difficult to not think about what you're actually creating on the screen without some sort of idea formulating in your mind. So I've tried to replicate this sketching process by limiting myself to 20-minute or less sessions creating digital sketches fast and furiously. I'll grab something from one photograph, add some "stuff", generate some sort of feeling, and add some other "stuff" accordingly. I name them when they are finished and the result is, I think, as close to a pure pencil sketch as I can achieve using a computer.
